Please refer to the right margin for resource links including Catholic Relief Services. In addition, the University of Kansas' library has a good selection of lib guides especially on race and gender issues. See:http://guides.lib.ku.edu/socialjustice
What is an Annotated Bibliography?
One of my favorite resources is Purdue University Online Writing Lab See:https://owl.english.purdue.edu/owl/resource/614/03/
*Notice the format in describing your source. Three short paragraphs. The first is a brief synopsis of the source (book, article, etc...) . With a book, you are obviously not reading the entire book before submitting the bibliography, but you should skim much of it.
Second, a brief paragraph focusing on why you find this source to be important for your work. The third brief paragraph should state in a couple of sentences what chapter or part of the source you will employ in your project.
Reading - Please read pages 77 - 81.
Wednesday through Friday - We will begin "unpacking " Chapter 3 of Text pages 77 - 107.
Key to the Praxis Project and our course of study is "The Circle of Faith-in-Action" found on page 78. This is a similar "circle," one that touches upon the reflective nature of "doing justice."
Understanding our individual worldview is very important in this course AND life. It will change depending upon our experiences and processing of those experiences.
Assignment: Read pages 77 -87
Please be prepared by the end of the week to discuss the questions in section "D" page 81. I will be distributing a journal for you to respond to these questions.
Wednesday/Thursday - Annotated notes will be distributed for pages 78 - 83. Assignment: Using these notes as a model for annotation, you will read and annotate pages 88 - 96 by Thursday, Feb. 23rd. Brainstorm question #16 (p. 96) with regard to your Praxis Project
Rerum novarum (from its first two words, Latin for "of revolutionary change" [n 1]), or Rights and Duties of Capital and Labor, is an encyclical issued by Pope Leo XIII on 15 May 1891
