Week Nine - Chapter Conclusion & Catholic Social Teaching Themes

Refering to the "tree" of Catholic Social Teaching from the previous week (Week Eight), you will complete the following by our next upcoming Day 4. This is your assignment (and part of your assessment see #3)

1. Read pages 56 - 73 of text.

2. Define in your notes the following terms from pages 60 - 63:
participation, maginalization, common good, subsidiarity, rights, survival rights, thrival rights

From pages 64 - 73: option for the poor and vulnerable, dignity of work, rights of workers, solidarity, care for God's creation

3. CST "21" = 7 Themes x 3 facts
Using your text and the link to the Unites States Conference of Catholic Bishops (USCCB), the following exercise is to be typed and submitted for upcoming Day 4.

a. State the theme and give a brief description.
b. List at least two contemporary issues that are applicable to this theme. This can also include your Praxis theme.
c. Copy/Paste Scripture passages (roots) from above link. Demonstrated in class.
d. List at least two encyclicals that address this theme.
